#10 Trump Nominates Susan Monarez to Become the Next CDC Director, Says Americans ‘Lost Confidence’ in Agency - Andrea Margolis for Fox News, Donald J. Trump, Bryce Lipscomb, Kelly McCarty, Brian Tyson MD, Craig M. Wax D.O., and Daniel Horowitz on X

President Donald Trump has named Susan Monarez as his nominee for the next director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), calling the candidate "a dedicated public servant." Monarez, who is currently acting director of the CDC, replaces Trump's original nominee for the role, Dr. David Weldon. The Trump administration never gave an official reason why Weldon's nomination was withdrawn earlier this month, but a source familiar with the matter told Fox News Digital that it would have been a "futile effort." "It became clear that the votes weren't there in the Senate for him to get confirmed," the source explained. "This would have been a futile effort."

#9 Trump Administration Invokes 'State Secrets Privilege' in Deportation Case - Sonam Sheth for Newsweek, Matt Gaetz, Western Lensmen, Kyle Cheney, and One America News on X
The Trump administration invoked "state secrets privilege" on Monday in response to a federal judge's order to provide further information on its deportation of more than 200 Venezuelan migrants to El Salvador this month.

Citing the Alien Enemies Act of 1798, the Trump administration carried out the deportations despite U.S. District Court Judge James Boasberg's verbal order instructing the government to hold off on deporting the Venezuelan nationals pending further legal proceedings. The Department of Justice (DOJ) has argued that the migrants who were deported have ties to the Tren de Aragua gang, though it has not provided ample evidence of an association...

#7 Are You Eating Toxic Paint Cleaner for Breakfast?! - NonToxicDad on Instagram, Wall Street Apes/Idgius Alpha, and Emilio Bootraginio on X
Are you eating TOXIC paint cleaner for breakfast?! 🥣🫣 You know all those random ingredients on the back of cereal boxes you can barely pronounce? One of them might be trisodium phosphate (TSP), the same ingredient found in paint cleaner! 🤢 I went to Home Depot to show you all the paint cleaner section, and I was SHOCKED that they only carry TSP substitute! 🤨 If Home Depot won't even carry this TOXIC chemical, because it's harmful if swallowed or ingested, I can only imagine how many people are being poisoned by eating this in their cereal every morning!

President Donald Trump celebrated plans by Hyundai Motor Co. to mount a significant expansion in the US, casting it as a vindication of his administration’s use of tariffs to pressure foreign manufacturers to create American jobs.  “We’re delighted to report that Hyundai is announcing a major $5.8 billion investment in American manufacturing,” Trump said Monday at a White House event alongside Republican Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry and executives from the South Korean automaker. Hyundai will be building a new steel plant in Louisiana, which Trump said would produce more than 2.7 million metric tons of steel a year. “And then there’ll be major expansion after that,” he added....

#4 Trump Authorizes 25% ‘Secondary’ Tariff on Venezuela Oil Buyers - Bloomberg News Yahoo Finance, Mario Nawfal, Dan Tsubouchi, Nikolai Yakovenko, JC, and The Indian Express on X

President Donald Trump on Monday issued an order allowing a 25% tariff to be imposed on any nation purchasing oil and gas from Venezuela, ratcheting up his dispute with the Latin American country over immigration with a move that risks roiling the global energy trade. The move aims to cut a major source of revenue for the regime of Nicolás Maduro in Caracas while also putting further pressure on China, which is a major purchaser of Venezuelan crude and already in the cross hairs for 20% tariffs under Trump. The US, meanwhile, is also a core buyer of Venezuelan oil, and Texas-based Chevron Corp. is a key producer...

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis stopped in Idaho on Monday on his tour to campaign for states to call a constitutional convention. He joined Gov. Brad Little and Lt. Gov. Scott Bedke at a press conference at the Capitol to rally around the idea of amending the U.S. Constitution to require the federal government to balance its budget. A small group of protesters stood outside Little’s office during the conference, with people holding signs such as “Stop Licking Boots” and “We Say Gay,” in reference to a Florida’s law known as the “don’t say gay” bill. The two governors were advocating for a never-used method to amend the nation’s charter, in which two-thirds of states may call for Congress to hold a constitutional convention. DeSantis told reporters on Monday he doesn’t think the full 34 states will be needed to spur change...

Bombshell leaked messages have revealed the level of contempt some of Donald Trump's key cabinet members feel for their 'free-loading' European allies. Since Trump returned to the White House, visible gaps have opened up in the relationship between Europe and the United States, with the future of Ukraine a particular point of contention.  But secret exchanges on the messaging app Signal, mistakenly sent to the editor-in-chief of The Atlantic magazine Jeffrey Goldberg, show the depth of the hostility on the US side...

The National Security Council said the text chain “appears to be authentic.”

Trump initially told reporters he was not aware that the highly sensitive information had been shared, 2 1/2 hours after it was reported. He later appeared to joke about the breach. The material in the text chain “contained operational details of forthcoming strikes on Iran-backed Houthi-rebels in Yemen, including information about targets, weapons the U.S. would be deploying, and attack sequencing,” editor-in-chief Jeffrey Goldberg reported...
